In May 2005, I was appointed the Chief Fire Officer/Fire Marshal of the Lower Merion Township Fire Department.  As the Chief Fire Officer I am responsible to provide leadership and oversight of our seven volunteer fire companies and meet regularly with the Chiefs and Presidents to establish goals and objectives for the Fire Department.  Prior to being promoted to the position of Chief Fire Officer/ Fire Marshal, I served as a Deputy Fire Marshal for the Township and was a former 25-year volunteer and Chief of the Bryn Mawr Fire Company.  In 2009, I was the Townships representative to the Main Line Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Main Line (LML) program and in 2010 was named the Township’s “Outstanding Senior Manager”.  Prior to becoming employed with Lower Merion Township, I served as Assistant Vice President of Operations/Director of Public Safety for Rosemont College.  A U.S. Marine Corps veteran I served honorably at the U.S. Embassies in Warsaw, Poland and Helsinki, Finland.

In May of 2008, I graduated from Saint Joseph’s University and hold a Master of Science Degree in Public Safety.  In May of 2001, I graduated from Rosemont College and hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management.  In 2009, Lower Merion Township sponsored my participation in the prestigious Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy from which I graduated in July of 2013.  In addition, I hold the Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFO) from the Commission on Professional Credentialing at the Center for Public Safety Excellence and the MIFireE designation from the Institution of Fire Engineers, United States of America Branch.  I am also a 1978 graduate of Archbishop John Carroll High School.

I played hockey from Pee Wee up through Midgets for the Delmont and Blue Line Hockey Clubs.  I have also been an Ice Hockey Official for the past 25 years and have refereed at many different levels.  My family joined the Hawks program three years ago and we have two children that play, both my daughter and son played for me last year on the Pee Wee A team.  I started coaching as an Assistant Coach in the Lower Merion Elementary program and came to the Hawks program three years ago as an Assistant Coach on the Squirt B team, two years ago as the Pee Wee B Head Coach, and this past season as the Head Coach of the Pee Wee A team.

If elected Vice President, I will continue to work with our current Board Officers as we make the Hawks hockey program the best in the Delaware Valley.
